Alex Petan Joins HK Olimpija Ljubljana

We are pleased to announce that our team will be strengthened by Alex Petan, a seasoned player with years of successful experience in the ICE league. Alex is a versatile forward, capable of playing both center and wing. Offensively, he is highly consistent and has ranked among the top players on every ICE league team he has played for. He is a tenacious, creative, and technically skilled player.

Throughout his career, Alex has competed in several European and North American leagues, including the AHL, ECHL, the German DEL, and most notably, the international ICEHL. Over the past two seasons, he played for HC Pustertal, and prior to that, for Fehérvár AV19 and HC Bolzano — with whom he won the ICEHL championship.

In addition to his undeniable quality on the ice, Alex also has a strong emotional connection to Slovenia. His father was Slovenian, born in Brežice. One of Alex’s longtime dreams has been to play in the capital city of his father’s homeland. A fun fact — his middle name is Franc.
