The big three points in Vienna

Our boys visited Vienna on Friday evening and returned home with three important points and a 3:2 victory. They played with discipline and heart, and goalkeeper Morrone excelled in goal with a 96% save.

In the first period, the home team had the initiative on the ice. The game did not go well for the Dragons, but Anthony Morrone saved them in goal, who was in a great mood and made 48 saves. There were chances on both sides, but the score at the end of the third period was 0. The Dragons started the second period with one less player, and then quickly found a rhythm and took the lead with a goal by Joona Erving. After the home team equalized, just before the end of the third period, Tadej Čimžar took care of the 2:1 lead. In the last third, our boys first increased the advantage - Chris Dodero scored, but the home team managed to reduce the advantage to 2:3. When he was sent off with two and a half minutes left in the game Rok Kapel, the locals pressed violently on Morrone's door. They also tried a 6 on 4 game, but their attack failed and the victory went to Ljubljana.

"Vienna played extremely well today, I think they have an extremely good team. If I look at our game, we played well for the first six minutes, in the rest of the game the moment of the moment changed - it was a little on our side and a little on Vienna's side. In the last seven minutes, Vienna put a lot of pressure, but we survived. Many things went our way today: even when we made a mistake, they found a solution. The goalkeeper defended exceptionally well. We fought and I am very satisfied with what the boys showed today," said Mitja Šivic after the match.

Clarification regarding the transmission of away matches:

The ICE League wants and strives for all matches in the league to be broadcast live. These are in the domain of the home club, which arranges the transfer with its partners. Vienna and Cologne have decided not to broadcast all matches this season and yesterday's visit of HK SŽ Olimpija was not on the Vienna Capitals broadcast list.
