T.J. Brennan becomes part of the Dragons

The hockey club Olimpija Ljubljana will be strengthened by T.J. Brennan, who is considered one of the best offensive defensemen to ever play in the ICE league.

T.J. Brennan is a seasoned player with a rich career that includes appearances in the NHL, AHL, Swiss leagues (SL and NL), and the ICE league. He played over 50 games in the NHL for teams including the Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. He excelled in the AHL, where he won the Eddie Shore Award twice as the league’s best defenseman (in 2014 and 2016). He was also selected three times to the AHL First All-Star Team. Altogether, he played more than 650 games in the AHL, recording an impressive 478 points — an outstanding achievement for a defenseman.

In the 2021/22 season, he won the ICE league championship with Red Bull Salzburg and was by far the most successful scoring defenseman that season.

He is known as a player with an exceptionally powerful and accurate shot, and he is particularly effective during power plays.

Anže Ulčar, Director of HK Olimpija:
“T.J. was a top priority for our coach, who knows and trusts him well from their time together in Salzburg. T.J. himself was looking for a new challenge in the ICE league, and I’m very happy we reached an agreement. We’ve acquired an excellent power-play player with a very high execution rate.”
