Canadian Forward Evan Polei Joins Ljubljana

New Signing: Canadian Evan Polei Joins Ljubljana
The 29-year-old forward, born in Alberta, Canada, has spent the majority of his career playing in the second-strongest hockey league in North America – the AHL (American Hockey League). In the AHL, he played for the Bakersfield Condors, San Diego Gulls, and Manitoba Moose, and was known for his physical style of play, determination, and effectiveness in front of the net. Evan joins Olimpija after a season in the Norwegian league, where he played for the Stavanger Oilers.
Evan is a forward with extensive experience in North American professional hockey. His energy, grit, and character align perfectly with the identity of our organization. With his physical presence and skill, he will be a valuable asset in our offensive lineup.
Anže Ulčar, Director of HK Olimpija:
“We’ve lacked presence in front of the opponent’s net both this season and in previous ones. That’s Evan’s specialty – he’s big, strong, and very skilled at deflecting pucks. He’s at his best right in front of the net. He combines physical play with an impressive scoring touch. With Evan, we’ve gained several key qualities we were looking for and have been missing in recent years.”
