The boys also brought all three points from Zagreb

On Sunday, December 22, the national championship in the U-15 selection continued. Our boys traveled to Zagreb. Zagreb is at the top of the league this season. Before the match, they were even ranked third. We could therefore expect an interesting meeting, where we still hoped that the role of favorite was assigned to our players, who also occupy the leading position in the championship standings this season.

The first third passed relatively peacefully. There were quite a few shots on the door. The Dragons fired 5 and the home team only 4. However, one of these shots ended up in the net. In the 12th minute, our dragons took advantage of the player more on the ice. After the pass Tian Hebar in Jan Petelinkar, he hit Anže Žeželj.

A few more shots followed in the second third. In this one, too, our players were slightly better (9: 8 ratio in our favor). And again, dragons were more effective at shooting. Our two hits followed first. In the 25th minute, he increased the lead to 2: 0 with a new goal Anže Žeželj (passes again Jan Petelinkar), and in the 30th minute after the pass Anže Žeželj saddle Jan Enej Jenko. Olimpija already had a nice advantage in the middle of the match, but the match was not over here. Towards the end of the third, the home team scored their first goal and the lead of our team was reduced.

In the last third, the home team pressed our door. There were quite a few exclusions on our side, which was also reflected in the shots on goal. In the last third, the home team shot ours with 13: 4. However, this did not help them in their ultimate success. In the 50th minute Anže Žeželj (passes Tit Smolnikar) scored its 3rd goal and our lead was increased to 4: 1. The home team's pressure continued and they scored their second goal in the beginning of the 59th minute. But that was only enough for a slightly more interesting finale. In the last minutes, the home team also attacked without a goalkeeper. Ours successfully defended, and it is 25 seconds before the end of the match Anže Žeželj (passes Tian Hebar) scored his 4th goal. With this goal in the empty net, the match was finally decided. The final score was 5: 2 for Olympia.

In the remaining matches, Slavija beat Celje 7: 0, KAC beat Jesenice 3: 2, Triglav was 8: 1 better than HDD Bled, and Maribor beat HKMK Bled 5: 3. Our players remain at the top of the rankings. The championship continues on Sunday, when the match in Kranj will take place.
