Shawn Lalonde Returns to Ljubljana

Shawn Lalonde, who played three games for HK Olimpija at the end of the ICE league season and made a strong impression with his determined and hard-nosed style of play, will represent Olimpija in the 2025/26 season.

Lalonde brings a wealth of international experience, gained in some of the strongest hockey leagues in the world. In North America, he played in the AHL, and after moving to Europe, he made his mark in the German DEL league, where he played for Eisbären Berlin and Kölner Haie. He went on to compete in the elite leagues of Sweden and Finland and also played several seasons in the KHL. Before joining Olimpija, he played in Slovakia.

Lalonde is a versatile defenseman, known for his powerful shot, physical play, and relentlessness in battles. With his experience and intensity, he will be a key part of Olimpija’s defense next season. His determination, technical skills, and ability to lead the play from the blue line will be crucial for a team aiming for the highest goals.
