The cadets also started their competition season this year on Saturday, September 18th. Our boys (who are defending the title of national champion) went to Maribor. Maribor is always considered a very good team in the u-17 selection, so this first visit was anything but easy.
But our young dragons were determined to bring all the points home and they started the match very determinedly. In the first period, the home team scored 11:7 in shots on goal and broke the score with two goals in the 5th and 6th minutes. He scored the first one without a pass Jaka Modic Ščavničarand the second is after the pass Vala Aeneja Jenkota achieved Jan Petelinkar.
In the second third, we then watched a more even game, which, however, mostly took place in the middle of the field. In total, we saw 9 shots on goal (of which 5 home). Yet ours were more efficient. After the pass Gaber Belec Married he hit Ian Petronijevic Lepsa.
The 3-0 lead was high at the beginning of the last third and when he increased it to 49: 4 in the 0th minute Even Žibert (no pass) it looked like the match was decided. However, the home team has not given up yet. In this part of the game, they were the ones who eventually recorded more shots on goal (13: 7) and this was also evident in the result. Immediately after our goal, the home team counterattacked and our team was forced to commit a penalty kick. The home team were effective and the score was reduced to 4: 1. A good minute later, another goal followed and in the 50th minute the lead was halved to 4: 2. The match became interesting. Our team withstood all the blows, and a few minutes before the end, the home team pulled the goalkeeper out of the game. This, however, ours took advantage of and Jan Petelinkar scored his second goal, this time without a pass and into an empty net. The match was thus finally decided, and the result was not yet final. In the last seconds, he scored his second goal Ian Petronijevic Lepsa and the match ended 6-2.
In the remaining matches, Triglav beat Zagreb 7: 0, Slavija was 5: 2 better than Celje at home, and in an exciting match, Blejčani beat Jesenice 3: 2.
Our cadets will continue the competition next Sunday, when they will play in Celje.
