On Wednesday, April 21, a new match of our juniors was scheduled. After a slightly longer break, the national championship continued. There are only two matches left until the end of the regular season.

Depending on the scale, we could say that these last two matches may be a little easier for our boys, but of course any role of the favorite must always be proven on the ice. First it was the home game against Maribor.

The match started at a fairly fast pace. The teams were tied in the opening minutes, and after a few minutes of play, the first chances came. Our players won a few more. Even in the game with the player more that followed (first for the guests and then for Olympia) our dragons were a shade more dangerous. But there were no hits. However, the nets did not remain intact until the end of the third. First, there was another game with a player more in favor of our team in the final minutes. The young dragons pressed on the door and it paid off for them. Blaž Stipanič passed to Stamps of Mehlet. This one slid towards the door and then passed nicely to the other side Gregor Žeželj, who hit a virtually undefended net for 1: 0. But that was not all. Just in the last seconds, our team started the attack again. He slipped into the attack first Blaž Stipanič. A foul was committed on him, but he came to the plate in front of the door Gregor Žeželj, who scored again and thus also set the final score of the first third. 2: 0.

The second third took place similarly to the first. The game was fast. We saw a few opportunities on each side, and a few times the tile even hit the door frame. Our players had a few more chances. The goal then fell again only towards the end of the third in a game with a player over. Our boys had more players on the ice. They combined for a while, and then they did Gregor Žeželj in Karlo Marinkovic put the tile on the blue line, and there an accurate and powerful shot was fired Blaž Stipanič and Olympia’s lead rose to 3-0.

In the last third, the guests pressed our door for the last time, but our boys controlled the game well and there were no real opportunities for a turnaround. It is true that the guests scored towards the end of the third period, even in a game with a player less. But that was just enough for us to watch a more interesting match in the finals. At the same time, the guests also pulled their goalkeeper out of the goal, which opened the way for our attackers to score the fourth goal. He's under attack in front of an empty door Gregor Žeželj nicely passed to the middle where it is Blaž Stipanič scored a goal for the final 4: 1.

The remaining matches of the penultimate round will be played the next day, so we cannot recommend these results at the moment. The math, however, says our guys need to make up for a few points advantage over leading teams. If they succeed, then in the last match of the regular season, which will be scheduled on Sunday against the Triglav team (the home team is Triglav, but the match will be played in Tivoli), we can still hope for at least theoretical chances to break through to the finals. well the season for our juniors ended on Sunday. There is no playoff in this year's shortened championship - only the finals between the best two ranked teams will take place.
