On Saturday, January 21, it was the turn of a new match for our cadets. The people of Jesenice arrived in Tivoli. In the second part of the regular season, practically all matches are important in terms of points. Perhaps the first place in the ranking has already been given to the people of Kranj, but the other three teams are more or less equally fighting for the remaining three places. On the one hand, the teams would like to avoid the people from Kranj, who at least in the regular part of this season have shown the most consistent games, but on the other hand, the advantage of the home field, which comes with a higher place in the ranking, is always attractive. Anyway, we expected an interesting, even and fighting match. That's exactly how she was...
The match started fairly evenly. Our team was more at the puck, but most of the game took place in the middle of the court. In the middle of the third, our team slowly started to take the initiative. Especially since in the meantime the guests had to endure one penalty with one more player. But there were no goals and the game calmed down a bit towards the end of the third period. We saw some dangerous situations in front of our gates at that time, but the nets remained intact and the two teams went to the first break with a 0-0 football score.
In the second period, the match got a little livelier. We saw significantly more dangerous shots. For a while, our team was more dangerous, and for a while, the guests were more dangerous. Ours even hit the goal frame in this part of the meeting. But the guests were more successful in terms of results. They scored at the beginning of the third. A puck from the blue line surprised our goalie a bit, who unfortunately intervened and the puck found its way into the net. Despite the other chances on both sides, this was also the only goal and even after the end of the second period, the "soccer" result was 1:0 for the visitors.
Our cadets then wanted to press even at the beginning of the third quarter. But they didn't succeed the most. The guests controlled the game well in the first minutes and in the 46th minute they took advantage of a mistake by our defense. The visiting striker came alone in front of our goal and scored for 2:0. Despite the fairly good game, it already started to show that the guests will be more successful in this match, when our first attack "awakened". The first is in the 52nd minute Jaka Reverend Modic submitted with leve side in front of the away goal, where he was successful Gaber Married to Belec. Just a minute later, our team pressed again. Gaber passed behind the goal to the defender Leva Lesarja, and this one to the other side to the second defender Bruno Kureta, who shot towards the goal and the result was tied.

After this goal, the guests rallied a bit and our run was over. There was no real power for a definitive turnaround and extra time followed.
Our team then came together again in overtime. In overtime, we once again dictated the game. We were waiting for the right opportunity and just before the end of extra time, it came. Bruno Kuret won the puck in the offensive third, passed to Bora Raccoon, who scored accurately and the result was 3:2.

The victory (after extra time) thus remained at home. The "crowding" in the championship standings is obvious. Slavija is in second place with 6 points, ours are third with 5 points, and Jeseničani also have 5 points. In the next round, our cadets visit Kranj, and the last round brings a home match with Slavia. All possibilities for second, third and fourth place are thus still open.
