The cadets won in Bled after taking penalty shots

On Saturday, September 24, the second match of the national cadet championship was scheduled. This time, our team had a more difficult task than in the first round. They traveled to Bled.

In the first period, we saw more cautious play from both sides. The home team fired only 6 shots at our goal, and ours only 4. However, the home team were successful in this and took a 6:1 lead in the 0th minute. In the second period, the shooters were significantly more determined. And ours also took the initiative a bit. We also saw some suspensions, which at times only livened up the game. But there were no goals and the 1:0 score lasted until the end of the second period.

But then the goals came in the last third. Right from the start, he opened the third period with an equalizing goal Ian Petronijevic Lepsa. The home team quickly took the lead back to 2:1, but it was Janev Ognen even in the 43rd minute, the result was tied at 2:2. We saw only one goal in the first two periods, and as many as 3 in the first two minutes of the last period. And the goals were not over yet. It's already in the 48th minute Ian Petronijevic Lepsa scored his second goal and put Olimpija in the lead for the first time in the game. Then followed a few more difficult minutes for our players, who had to defend their goal for several minutes with one less player on the ice. But that's the kind of game he's in Even Žibert scored another goal for 4:2. It looked like Olimpija would win the match after regular time, as there were only 7 minutes left in the match. But in the 56th minute, the home side scored another goal, and 2 minutes before the end of the match, another goal was scored, and the result was tied again. There was no time for new goals until the end of the match and the match ended with the result 4:4.

In overtime, our players tried several times, but were unsuccessful, so penalty shots followed. He was successful right away in the first series Even Žibert. In the second series, the shooters were unsuccessful, but in the third, the home team equalized the performance of penalty shots at 1:1. However, ours are over Jake Modica Ščavničar took the lead again in the fourth series and since there were no more goals until the end of the penalty shootout, our team could look forward to the victory.

In the remaining matches, Slavija defeated Maribor 7:1, while Jesenice defeated Celje 15:0. Our next match is in Kranje in a week.
